The Fighter Release Date Announced

Months after production was completed, the release date for David O. Russell’s “The Fighter” has finally been set for December 10, 2010.
The cast of “The Fighter” will feature names such as Mark Wahlberg, Christian Bale and Amy Adams.
One would assume the studio has a lot of faith in how the movie will perform in theaters, as December is right in the heart of Oscar season. It’s also my explanation as to why they would wait so long in announcing a release date for a film of such high demand.
Darren Aronofsky was originally scheduled to direct, but switched over to The Wrestler. The film tells the story of Dicky Eklund (Christian Bale), a real life boxer-turned-trainer who rebounded after a run of drugs and crime.
