UFC 116: Lesnar vs. Carwin
UFC 116: Lesnar vs. Carwin is an upcoming mixed martial arts event to be held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on July 3, 2010 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.
In perhaps the greatest heavyweight match up of all time, Brock Lesnar will face Shane Carwin for the heavyweight championship.
Carwin is coming off a colossal victory over Frank Mir, who is at the peak of his career. In each of his twelve victories, Carwin has never been out of the first round. He is also undefeated with 7 knockouts and 5 submissions.
Lesnar hasn’t fought since July of 2009 due to an extended illness that sidelined him for some time. His most recent victory is also over Frank Mir. Ironically, his only loss in his mixed martial arts career was from Frank Mir in early 2008 due to a kneebar. Lesnar has stated many times that he can beat anybody.
In the co-main event, Yoshihiro Akiyama goes from an Ax Murderer to a Crippler. Originally set to face Wanderlei Silva, Akiyami will now face Chris “The Crippler” Leben after Silva was reported to have injured his ribs during training.

George Sotiropoulos vs. Kurt Pellegrino Fight of the night for sure…Perfect BJJ against American Wrestling..
I agree that the Sotiropoulos fight will be an amazing one. Even though I am a huge fan of Batman, (Pellegrino) I am going with Sotiropoulos.
I hope I am wrong, but I don’t see Leben being able to hand Akiyami. Even though Akiyami hasn’t fought the caliber of fighters that Leben has, (with the exception of Belcher) I think he will win this decisively.
For the main event, I think Carwin is really going to prove he is the real deal by knocking out the big man, Brock Lesnar.
